"Man your post, soldier!"

How many of you know people that exaggerate things? I myself am a pretty measured guy. Alway careful with my words. However, believe it or not, I have been accused of exaggerating.

I remember losing a volunteer staff couple because I had to more than once call them on arriving late. They just didn't get that this type of "laissez faire" attitude of walking in late to Sunday AM church service or starting late was not the kind of culture we wanted to develop and much less the attitude we expected our leaders to model. THey left because I was pressuring them to be on time to church. SMH.

I recently read this article from Dr. James O. Davis and it reminded me that everything that we do is of great importance.

"Did you know in 1915, Leon Trotsky, who was one of the leaders in the Bolshevik Revolution, and the spread of communism, Trotsky, was invited to a Sunday School class in Chicago. He went to the Sunday School class because he was searching, looking for some ideas. When Trotsky came to that Sunday school class in Chicago, the Sunday school teacher was not even there, he didn't even show up. Furthermore, he had not appointed anyone to take his place. So far as history tells us, that was the last time Trotsky ever attended any kind of a Bible study or church.

In 1917, he was in the middle of the Bolshevik Revolution, leading the revolution that was changing the world, and damning the souls of men. One cannot help but wonder what would have happened in 1915 if he had come into a Sunday School class and there was a Spirit-filled, Bible-drilled, victory-thrilled, man or woman of God, standing up there teaching that class. What would have happened if there had been a person with the anointing of God upon him or her? What may have happened on that day? God knows. But, we'll never know, because there was a Sunday school teacher who had missed his place along the wall-and because of that, there was a gap."

What do you think? Exaggeration? Over the top? I don't think so. Like a good soldier, let's man our post and take our ministry duties seriously. Who knows what impact we may have on those we serve. From the parking lot greeter all the way up the chain to the pastor. Let's do our best for the Lord.
